ConsciousCart is a revolutionary mobile and desktop app designed to make the online shopping experience by promoting mindful and sustainable consumer choices. It’s integrated seamlessly into popular online shopping platforms, offering a range of features like “trend tracking” to keep users informed, suggesting eco-friendly alternatives, and delivering personalized recommendations aligned with individual values.
The main feature is a non-intrusive, browser-integrated checklist that appears at checkout (which users can disable on certain sites where their shopping is necessary) that prompts users to reconsider their purchases, encouraging a pause for thoughtful reflection. It asks questions like, “Is this something you genuinely need, or is it more of a want influenced by current trends? Does this purchase align with your budget, or are there more essential items you should prioritize? Will it become trash in the near future?” The app and website feature a community forum that creates a space for users to share insights, success stories, and tips on conscious consumerism. ConsciousCart is not just an app; it's a movement toward reducing waste, supporting sustainability, and making informed choices in this new Digital Age.

The browser extension serves as a gentle reminder that gives users the option to engage in a mindful shopping checklist before finalizing their purchase. Through the extension, a “checkout checklist” feature is integrated, where ConsciousCart activates when the user gets to the checkout page of the online store they’re shopping on. Users are prompted to click through the checklist and thoughtfully consider the items in their cart before finalizing the order.
The ConsciousCart website and app is essentially a hub for educational resources where users can explore sustainable alternatives, receive personalized recommendations, and track trends. Users can also start accounts, adjust user settings, and participate in the ConsciousCart community. The home page (on the left) includes a call-to-action, key values, and testimonials. The resource library (right) functions as a blog for educational content on conscious living and for the community to connect over like-minded ideas.
Our main social media apps to advertise our product would be TikTok and Instagram, but the way in which we advertise our product will be based on “lifestyle content” and “De-influencers” doing real-life activities with sustainable and environmental consciousness in mind. The style of advertisements will almost, if not fully, blend in with other social media posts on users' For You and explore page.
Above is an example of what one of our ads would look like, emphasizing the idea of advertisement "fitting in."
